As summer approaches, many families take advantage of school vacations and time off to have family gatherings! Reconnecting with family is a great excuse to share old photo memories and make new ones.

Let photo memories help you connect with loved ones this year!

1.Before the gathering, ask everyone in your family to bring a favorite photo, document, or scrapbook along with a story to share about that image or time. Ask them to bring an older photo, but also a photo from the past year. Either take notes, ask each person to write down their story, record the audio as it is told, or take a video of each person telling their story. You will quickly be able to gain a colorful, unique archive of family memories, both old and new.

2.Be mindful of the photos you take at the event, with a future photo book in mind. Start a tradition to capture these memories and create an original gift to tell the story of your family during this time.

3.Have fun with your photos! One of our favorite games to play at family gatherings (or here at EverPresent) is the baby picture game. Ask everyone to bring a baby photo to your event, lay them all on a table or mount them to a board and try to guess who is who! It will be fun to see how people have changed through the years.

Make this the year to start a unique tradition and use photos to connect with family. For more ideas and tips, call us at 617-505-1132.
