Yes. There are two ways you can go about it – DIY and hiring a professional vinyl to digital service. The DIY approach involves getting a USB turntable or a phono preamp connected to your computer, along with recording software (such as Audacity). You’ll have to record in real time (one full side per pass) then manually split tracks and clean up noise yourself. A professional vinyl record to digital service saves you time and ensures you get the quality audio conversion you had hoped for the first time around. We have more sophisticated equipment that captures at higher quality, and we do all the track splitting, labeling, and cleanup so you get organized, ready-to-play files back.

Connect your turntable to a USB audio interface or one with USB output built in. Then you just open your recording software, drop the needle, and start recording. You end up with one continuous audio file per side. So, you have to follow up by manually splitting each track, trimming the silence between songs, and exporting to .mp3 or .wav. It’s incredibly time-consuming, and quality is limited to the equipment/software you use.

Yes, as long as it is for personal use. You are generally allowed to format-shift a recording you legally own. Converting a vinyl record to digital file falls under the scope of that language. But uploading full albums to streaming or sending copies to people who didn’t buy the record is another story.

Standard transfers are sent to you as .mp3 files. We also offer higher fidelity 24-bit .wav files. These preserve the original record’s full dynamic range and detail. It’s worth the extra money for audiophile playback, archival storage, or any future editing work. You can also get your files delivered on USB drives and DVDs. Oh, and we scan album covers on request too if you want the artwork to go with the music!

Yes. Each side is split into individual songs so you don’t just get one long file. Every track is labeled using the info printed on your sleeve, jacket, or record label. No generic “track 01” naming convention.

Only for restoration as needed. AI-assisted tools help with a very specific type of noise – hiss, hum, crackle, and ambient interference.
