SCRAPBOOK PAGE SCANNING Service
People have been scrapbooking longer than the United States has been a country! The 19th century not only saw the invention of photography but a boom in widely circulated printed materials that people had never had before and wanted to save: letters, poems, recipes, you name it. They were wildly popular among young women who could use them to document their daily lives in a way previously not available to them and we can scan your scrapbook pages no matter what you have glued to them!
Many scrapbook pages are 12″ x 12″, mounted on black paper with glue or photo corners, and have notations under each photo about who they are and what they’re doing as well as other printed mementos layered over them. Women enjoying their college experience in the 20th century were a big demographic that made scrapbooks very popular and it was a common practice to document a college journey through scrapbooking rather than journaling. You can see one from Skidmore College that we preserved and turned into a photo book here. The love and care that went into each of these individual masterpieces make them the family heirlooms that they are and we do our utmost to preserve the integrity of the original through full-page scans with our scrapbook page scanning service. Letters and cards were frequently attached by the envelope, and these can also be taken out, scanned and put back into their original place.

Common questions about scrapbook page scanning
Can you preserve my fragile scrapbooks?
Yes! The best way to preserve your old 12×12 (or larger) scrapbooks is to make them digital and then store the original in archival storage containers. We’ll work with you to scan your pages and give you our best recommendations for how to care for the original.
Do you have to scan the whole scrapbook page?
The best thing about scrapbooks is the creative way you can use other elements besides photos to make something special. To preserve the integrity of the original, we’ll scan the whole page and give it to you as an image file. You can even use these scans to turn your scrapbook into a photo book! If useful, we can also crop some or all of the individual images or items for easier sharing on small screens.
Are my vintage scrapbooks safe?
We have the utmost respect for the history and the time that goes into these fragile, vintage keepsakes. All of our technicians wear white gloves and every order is sealed in weatherproof containers.

“EverPresent did a great job scanning my old scrapbooks so I could have digital files of all of my scrapbooks. Ever since we had a house fire 5 years ago that my scrapbooks miraculously survived, I have been thinking I should scan them in but I didn’t get around to it. EverPresent scanned them using much better technology than I have so the quality is excellent. I just printed out some of the files to see how a reproduction would look and it looks very good, both on photographic prints and in photo books I ordered online. Now I know that I can recreate a damaged book if necessary, and I can easily make copies of books in case, for example, my daughter wants to take her baby book with her someday when she has her own home and I still want a copy or in case both of my daughters each want a copy of a particular book. EverPresent was completely professional and handled my scrapbooks with great care. Highly recommend.”
